my last name is by marriage. My late husband William John Caffary born in Alexandria Egypt son of John Baptist Caffary and grandson of saviour caffary. My late father in law had a brother who lived in Leeds, cannot remember his name. The family originally from co.cork Ireland. I have a feeling that the name could have been mispelt and should have been either mccaffary or mccaffery or mccaffrey, hard to say, in those days immigration officials wrote the names down as they sounded and being from Ireland when moving to Britain they dropped the mc.
