Juanita had both an obituary, which the Modesto Bee used to print for free, and an "Memories of" entry, which the family paid for.

Juanita Viola Pennington Brians

January 8, 1923 April 7, 2007

Born to Greene Lee and Arminta Rich Pennington in Jasper, Arkansas, Juanita was raised in Arkansas before she joined the women's Army Air Corps in World War II where she obtained marksman status for her rifle skills.

Juanita married Garland Lee Brians of Batesville, Arkansas and was a loving mother to Larry Wayne and Gary Lee. [Those are two sons with first and middle names, not four sons.] She taught public school in Arkansas and business college in Modesto, California. Her loving nieces and nephews recall "Aunt Pete's" enthusiasm for playing softball, quilting, bowling, gospel singing and the poems she penned.

She is survived by son Larry, his wife Rosie, grandson Matthew, and sisters
Ora Vay Worthy of Springdale, Arkansas
Barbara Ballard of Vancouver, Washington
Nina Faria, Goldy Mosley, Gladys Towell, Ruby Ward, Patricia Fowler, and brother, Wendell Pennington, all of Modesto.

Some things I try to copy at the bottom of every obit I post:

1) I'm not related and didn't know the person. I do this to repay a number of people who did lookups for me, in a general way. They almost never need a lookup in Stanislaus County, but others do. If you would like to return the favor, in the same general way, I suggest the GenForum site for your county. There are usually unanswered obit requests.

2) Ill send you the paper copy of the microfilm if you send me your address via my profile. This is a limited time offer, since I've been doing this for a while and the ones no one wants clutter up my genealogy cubbyhole. If I don't hear from you in 30 days or so, out it goes.
