Boy am I confused. I need to know where you got the indepth info on Otis W. Smith who died at Sawtelle. I know that resource you gave is Source: U.S. National Homes for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers 1866-1938. However, at Ancestry, when you look up this source it only gives very brief information, and doesn't give the detailed information you posted above.
The family tree you gave me was really helpful, but they have pretty much accepted that he died at yountville, where the Medal of Honor Recipient died. I would like to accept that too, but the info you gave me says otherwise.
I have a photo of Great Great Grandpa in front of Sawtelle, now that doesn't prove he wasn't moved to Yountville, but the information says he died at Sawtelle, and his remains sent to his widow, Sara O. Smith at Arroyo Grande.
Perhaps, you can shed some light on the subject. LOL
