Evening Tribune (San Diego) 10/23/1928 Shaw Funeral To Be Held Tomorrow abstracted Thomas Montague Shaw, 80, former city engineer and harbor engineer, died yesterday at Balboa Naval Hospital. Interment Greenwood Mem Park. During the Spanish American War he was captain of the naval reserve gunboat Pinta. After the SA War he became a governmental engineer and was served as an engineer on the San Pedro breakwater and the Stocton plume. Born in Boston in 1848, came to CA in 1874, and came to SD in 1883. Daughters, Mrs. Margaret Furrow, Mrs. Lois Lindsay, Gordon T. and Fred A. Shaw, of SD, and Harry Shaw of Palo Alto. A brother, Fred J. Shaw, lives in Ocean Beach and another brother, Will Shaw, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Sargent and Mrs. Hattie Dicker, live in Boston.
