Well, Hello Bill Downs!
So glad to hear from a descendent in these BUZZARD lines!

I have two newspaper notices for your wife's ancestor:
Newspaper items of Chester Co:
11/21/1865 - John H. Buzzard, son of Simeon, killed at age 29, buried in Charlestown burying ground.

Village Record, November 21, 1865
Brought Home- John H. Buzzard, son of Simeon Buzzard, of Schuylkill Township, Chester County, was brought home last Monday, and was buried on Tuesday last in the Charlestown burying ground, aged about 29 years. He was a soldier and died for his country. He entered the Army as a volunteer in the 119th Regiment. He had been in eight battles. His funeral was large of many sympathizing friends. The Odd Fellows attended the funeral in a body.

According to the office at Mt Zion, John H was reburied at Morris Cemetery on 10/2/1869, probably by his father.

I have not placed Lewis S either, but he is probably a son of Simeon Jr and his wife Susan STUART. That S for his middle initial makes me think so!

I would love to know more about the HIGH ancestors of Simeon Sr's wife - Elizabeth HIGH. I know she was a dau of Daniel HIGH and Margaret PENNYPACKER, but who are parents of Daniel HIGH? The reason I ask, it that my gr5grandfather was Jacob HIGH (b. <1730-1812 m Elizabeth BLEIM. He was a son of John Jacob HIGH and Elizabeth LONGNECKER. And John Jacob HIGH was son of Melchoir HIGH and wife Barbara (?unk?).

Jacob had a son Daniel b c1776-1775 and I wondered if he could be the one who m Margaret Pennypacker? Jacob and Elizabeth BLEIM also had a dau Mary HIGH who m Henry LANDIS, and they are my gr4. Their grandson, and my grgrandparents - Daniel W LANDIS m Clara SAVAGE, and this is the connection to the SAVAGE lines.

I have been trying to tie all of these together! I still do not know who my John BUZZARD who m Hannah SAVAGE belongs to. He was born c1792, served in War of 1812, was locktender at Mont Clare lock #60, and died 6/16/1856. I have yet to find where he is buried. But I did find wife Hannah recently. After she was a widow she went to live with her daughter Lucinda BUZZARD who had married a Thornton BARNES and lived in Philadelphia. She died there on 5/22/1885 and is buried in Mount Peace Cemetery in a BARNES plot with Lucinda and Thornton and some of their children.

I look forward to hearing from you. You can email me at audiana at msn.com too!
