I am trying to determine which Butler family Martha S Butler was from. I have found that most Butlers in Frankline Co, Maine traces back to Nicolas Butler of Martha's Vineyard. When I have looked at histories of franklin co maine which lists Butlers, I have not found any Martha s that were born abt 1811. I have us census records which list Martha S. Upham married to Nathan Upham in 1850 & 1860. She is not listed in 1870 and while the household lists a domestic for housekeeping. I am guessing she died between 1860 and 1870. I found on familysearch.org that a Martha S. Butler married Nathan Upham on 27 apr 1843. This fits the 1850 census with the birth of Nathan and Martha Upham 1st child in 1844.
