I am as yet unable to make a complete documented paper trail from my Dr. John Housen Bush (ca 1770-1832) back to Abraham Bush who died in 1687 in Lancaster County.
However, 2 separate male descendants of Dr. Bush fall into Group E on the Family Tree DNA Study indicating those descendants share a common ancestor with those of Abraham Bush.
As far as I know, only one in that DNA study has a fully documented paper trail back to Abraham and that is John Steven Bush. The others have a credible trail but are missing some pieces to make the trail complete. Those include the very likely descendants of Isaac Bush and Hannah Sammon. Isaac left no will nor did Hannah and it has not been concretely proven that they were the parents of James and William Bush although it seems very very likely to be the case. I believe you are claiming to descend from this William Bush (and Francis Lester). I have been helping a gentleman who believes he descends from William's brother, James Bush.
My own independent research on Dr. Bush and a William Bush who married Mary Thetford revealed an abundance of coincidental data that links them to other descendants of Abraham Bush. I theorized that perhaps Abraham was the "father" of my Bush line in America previous to those DNA tests which confirmed they shared a common ancestor.
I hope you will order the correct kit for your nephew soon and keep me posted on those results. The more I can learn about those proven descendants of Abraham Bush, the more likely I may be in identifying and proving my own Bush line. Abraham Bush had a number of sons and some have not been fully researched (sons Thomas, Abraham and George Bush) I appreciate all your help!
