Hi,

I have discovered that a branch of my family emigrated from England to the USA in the early 20th century.

Herbert Rachtivan BROWNE, born LAN, ENG 17/12/1871, emigrated on the 11/11/1893, living first in Rich Valley (Saltville), Smyth, Virginia.

Naturalised in 1902, he moved to Wyandotte, where he worked as a chemist in the Michigan Alkali Company until at least 1930.

He had several children...

Alleyne b.1897, Saltville, Smyth, Virginia
Herbert A. b.1897, Saltville, Smyth, Virginia
Margorie L.G. b.1899, Saltville, Smyth, Virginia
Harold B. bc.1907, Wyandotte, Wayne, Michigan
Mary J. bc.1911, Wyandotte, Wayne, Michigan
Elizabeth E. bc.1915, Wyandotte, Wayne, Michigan

Does anyone know if this family stayed in Detroit, or if any of their descendents are still living ?

I have a huge amount of data on the ancestors of the above people, but but nothing after 1930. Very happy to share with fellow BROWNE researchers !

Geoff BROWNE,
Devon, England.
