Hi,

Children of Burwell Brewer (d.1799) & Elizabeth Patrick (d.1800) from a book written in 1871 by George Paschall, nephew of Burwell Bledsoe Brewer and son of his sister Agnes Brewer Paschall.

1) Sarah Brewer married Mr Sojourner
2) Adelia Brewer married Mr Boyd of Charleston SC. She was 20 & he 50 at time of marriage; he lived to be 94. She lived to be very old.
3) Patrick Brewer----oldest son---married, was widowed & died before his parents died.
4) Agnes Brewer (1776-1869) married George Paschall
5) William Brewer lived Oglethorpe Co GA
6) Nancy Brewer married George Brittain
7) Susan Brewer married 1)Sandy Boling & then 2)his brother Henry Boling (Boling family to St Stephens, Mississippi territory)
8) John Brewer lived in SC 25 years where he married & then moved to Monroe Co GA
9) Elizabeth Brewer married John Paschal (nephew of George who married Agnes)
10) Rebecca Brewer married Mr Lewis--lived Burke Co GA
11) James Brewer--died early--had 2-3 children
12) Burwell Bledsoe Brewer--the youngest boy--\

Burwell (or Burrell) Bledsoe Brewer married Elizabeth "Gilly" Brewer, daughter of George B Brewer of St Stephens, Washington County, Alabama. (Though St Stephens was Mississippi Territory when the Brewers settled there.) Gilly Brewer Brewer's mother was Susannah Bird, daughter of Richard Bird.
This Burwell is the War of 1812 soldier, according to the Paschall book:
Burrell B Brewer was descended from George Brewer and his second wife, Alice Burwell. Gilly was descended from George Brewer and his first wife, Sarah Lanier.
The book states Burwell Bledsoe Brewer was the youngest son of Burwell and Elizabeth Patrick Brewer, as well as the youngest soldier in the War of 1812 and that he was killed in a duel. (It states he was living at the time of his death in "Bay St Louis, La" which is in error. There is not, and never has been, a Bay St Louis, La. He lived in Bay St Louis, Mississippi, which at the time was Shieldsboro.
My husband's great grandfather, George M Brewer, was born in St Stephens, lived as a boy in Shieldsboro, Mississippi, and died in Mobile. He was the son and only surviving child of Burwell B Brewer and Elizabeth Gilly Brewer Brewer. George M Brewer married Azaline Monet of then-Shieldsboro, a town incorporated by her French-born father, Jules Caesar Monet and several others.
Their daughter Julia Henriette Brewer, married Thomas Alexander Taylor I.
We have furniture and family possessions of the Brewers, but do not have a copy of the Paschall book, which is entitled, Ninety Four Years, Agnes Brewer Paschall (1776-1869) We would love a copy if anyone has one and would be glad to pay the copy cost or scanning cost.
Are there any other descendants of Burrell Brewer and Elizabeth Patrick out there?
The children and marriages of their children, as given in the Paschall book:

The Patrick research (and quotes from the book about Brewer) comes from KeithMoody61 and can be found under the PATRICK board.

Elizabeth Patrick's parents Mr Patrick & Miss Milligan (Scotch ancestry) packed up their stuff in 1784, brought their nine sons, one daughter, son in law Burwell Brewer & his brother George Brewer to Wilkes (now Oglethorpe Co GA). The only brother of Elizabeth Patrick Brewer named in the book is Milligan Patrick.

Agnes Brewer was born in 1776 in North Carolina in the "narrows of the Yadkin", the daughter of Burrell Brewer (whose father came from England) & Elizabeth Patrick (whose father came from Ireland).

George Paschall in his book states that his Great-grandparents "Mr Patrick & Miss Milligan, their 9 sons, one daughter, son-in-law Burwell Brewer moved from NC to Wilkes (now Oglethorpe) Co GA in 1784. The only son of Paul Patrick named in the book is Milligan Patrick.

Paul Patrick, Samuel Patrick, William Patrick & John Patrick are listed in the 1782 Surry Co NC tax digest;

Solomon Patrick & Burwell Brewer are listed in the 1782 Wilkes Co North Carolina tax digest.

By the mid/late 1780's these Patrick's were established in the section of Wilkes Co Georgia that would become part of Oglethorpe Co Ga in 1793.

These Patrick's lived on adjoining lands, sold each other land, witnessed each others deeds.
Noticeably missing: in the 1800 Oglethorpe Co Census, David Patrick & Joseph Patrick are listed and many researchers put them in the Paul Patrick family. Both of these men came to Oglethorpe Co from Greene County and belonged to the Greene County Patrick family (which is a separate family)
