Thanks for the information. It should keep me busy for a while. I found a few newspaper clippings that are useful: The Daily Register HUDSON, N.Y. THURSDAY, AUGUST 11, 1898 The five-year-old son of Joseph Barris, of Catskill, was so badly burned on Monday that it is thought he will die. The child was playing with matches that ignited the front of his frock. (Could this be William Russel?) GREENE COUNTY EXAMINER-RECORDER, CATSKILL, N. Y. July 30, 1909 At the town clerk's office yesterday a marriage license was issued to Arthur J. Harper of Pittsfield, Mass., movie picture operator at the Nelida Theater, and Miss Mamie Barris of the Westside, whose father, the late Joseph Barris, was in his day a noted trapeze performer with the Forepaugh circus. Also, in the 1905 census Joseph Barris and Nettie have children Jennie June b. 1889, Carrie b.1891 and Porter b.1894 along with Leslie and Mary Burris. Carrie was listed as Mrs. Carrie Hadden of Athens in William's obituary, and Mary must be Mrs. Frank Cunneyford as listed in the same obit. I'll let you know if I find anything more. Ken |
