Nettie Brewer is buried in the New Jefferson cemetery in Catskill. It's also called the Jefferson Heights Cemetery locally.--and Mazeppa does not appear to be there. I tried to send you the link yesterday but today I can't even get it to copy.
Anyway, Esther Elberta was my husband's grandmother.

I have reason to believe Etta Haines may have been married before she married Mazeppa--but I have yet to document it sufficiently. First, although she is described on her gravestone as Etta Haines, as if that had been her maiden name, her daughter Esther Elberta's marriage certificate said the mother's maiden name was Essie Whitaker [Essie, Etta, Esther--all could be variations on same name]. Second, daughter's obituary said mother was Esther Whitaker. Third, the 1880 census for Cairo, Greene County, NY, lists an Etta Haines (and the only one in the country so far as I can tell) as married, living in the home of Catherine Rickerson as a servant. This Etta Haines was 20 at the time of the census, which is consistent with hre being 28 when she died in 1888. I cannot find an Esther/Etta/Essie Whitaker anywhere. Thank you, by the way, for the Fulton Postcard site. It's proving good for some of my other threads.
