I'm still searching Black Hawk Co. IA for a clue about when & where Clarissa Hubbard Brayton died. Again, an afternoon spent searching without any break through on death info for her. (I don't think it was in BH Co., IA!) But, I wondered if just maybe Clarissa might have remarried after the 1870 census. I searched the "Early Black Hawk Co. Marriages" books, but didn't find a marriage for a Clarissa Brayton up through the mid-1880s when I quit looking. However, I DID find this (Black Hawk Co., IA, Marriages Book F): 8 July 1878 - Ward, James (aged) 23 and Brayton, Mollie (aged) 35. Anyone know who this Mollie was? Could she have been Clarissa Hubbard & Joseph Brayton's dau. Mary (b. abt 1849 per 1860 census)?? The ages don't match. tho.
