Amanda E(or F), born 17 Nov 1806 in KY, died 15 Dec 1868, buried with her husband George M Edgar, born 21 Jul 1796 in VA, died 02 Dec 1852 in Breton twp., Washington Co., MO. They are buried at the City Cemetery, (aka Old Presbyterian Cemetery) in Potosi City, Breton twp., Washington Co., MO. with some of their children: John T, Azena Laura, and Emily J Edgar. Other children known to me, Antionette, B.F(male), Susan, Eliza, and Julia B. Edgar. All of their children were born in MO. I do not have a marriage record for George & Amanda Brashear Edgar, and wondering if anyone might? Although George Edgar was born VA, I am quite certain he came to KY with the rest of the Edgar clan, that settled in Logan Co., KY, then moved on to MO, many with the New Cumberland Presbyterian church around 1820. I do not have parents for George Edgar, just some good educated guesses! Is this Amanda the daughter of Joseph Brashear and his first wife Betsy Cummins? this is the Joseph that went on to marry Elizabeth Noble, 12 Aug 1813 in Adair Co., KY. Possible siblings of Amanda; William W, Levi L, Mary Jane, Flavilla M, Alexander M, Elizabeth R, Mortimer M. Brashear, this is "very sketchy info" from some old notes of mine, and I have not verifed any of this info. The children of George & Amanda Brashear Edgar were found on the 1850 & 1860 census for MO and in the online cemetery records for Washington Co., MO, they may have had other children............there are a lot of Edgar(s) that I am currently working on in Washington, Crawford, Cooper and Phelps Co., MO.
