My great, great, great, great grandfather and his son were elected representatives for a district, Blounts Ferry, in Florida in 1885. Blount's Ferry was located just over the GA state line in Florida on the Suwanee River. This was a major passage way for folks moving south from GA. They would travel on the West side of the river and cross over at Blount's Ferry and continue South to Alligator, FL. I am researching Blount's Ferry....any connection to the Blounts family name?
