Martha Bloodsworth was the daughter of JOHN HAMILTON POSEY BLOODSWORTH and MARGARET FRANCES HAGWOOD. I have to say that my grandpa didn't talk much about his Native American blood, either. He mentioned it once to my mom, but she didn't ask for details. When I asked him point blank about it, he told me his mom (Martha Bloodsworth) was Chickasaw, but that's all he would say about it. I don't know if that was due to the stigma that would have once been attached, or if it was because he wasn't much of a talker.
