I would like to come into contact with other descendants of John and Catherine (Young) Blauvelt, as I am hoping to learn more about Catherine's origins. It is known that Catherine's bible was in the possession of one of her granddaughters as late as the 1950's.

John Thomas Blauvelt (son of Jacobus Blauvelt & Maria Demarest) was born Dec. 19, 1837, and baptised in Patterson, New Jersey March 1839. He married Catherine Maria Young (parents unknown) on June 17, 1862 in Minnesota. She was born Jan. 19, 1838. John lived in Minneapolis, Salem, Grand Meadows, Rochester, Buffalo Lake, and other places in Minnesota, later settling in North Dakota with his son John's family, where he died on Sept. 3, 1916 in Minot. Catherine died on April 27, 1901 in Minneapolis.

John & Catherine had at least the following four children, though it's possible that there were others:

-John Demarest Blauvelt, b. Oct. 7, 1872 in Grand Meadows, MN, m. 1905 Barbara Catalina Falconer in Fargo, ND, d. Oct. 8, 1955 in Huntington Park, CA

-Anna Maria Blauvelt, b. April 1, 1874 in Salem, MN, m. 1900 James G. Rowley in Devil's Lake, ND, d. July 14, 1837

-George Edgar Blauvelt, b. Feb. 5, 1876 Rochester, MN, m. Grace ____?, d.?

-Katherine Riker Blauvelt, b. June 18, 1883, Murray Co., MN, d. Aug. 5, 1916, Minot, ND

If you have a connection to any of these individuals, I would love to hear from you!

Thank You,
Kristen
