For those of you who are interested, Elizabeth Colville had an unrecorded son James Black. I think that he was only a little older than her son Samuel Newell.
For those of you who might be interested, Elizabeth Colville had a son James Black who is as yet unrecorded among genealogists.

I descend from Elizabeth Colville through her daughter Christian Black.

James Black served with his half-brother Samuel Newell at the Battle of Point Pleasant. He was recorded as "James Newell."

James Black and his half-brother Samuel Newell signed the 1788 Greene County (NC) Petition for the Formation of a New County. Their signatures were next to each other.

James Black and Samuel Newell had a niece Keziah (Acklin) Woods who named one of her sons for her uncle James Black. He was James Black Acklin Woods, a preacher.
