I have a GEDCOM file that apparently was created using a UTF-8 character set. When I import it into BK6, all the Spanish characters (extended ASCII, e.g. á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ) get distorted and appear as unintelligible letter/symbol combinations. I believe that BK defaults to an ANSEL character set but I have not found an option that allows me to tell BK how to handle the import so that the names and locations display correctly. |
