The Christian Bertsch, 1860 census, was born May 28 1832, Baden and d. 23 Nov 1911 Shelby Co., Ohio. The death certificate did not give the names of his parents. He was a farmer in the area. In 1870, his wife's name is Magdalena and in 1880, it is Sarah. The Frederick Ludwig b. 1826, 1860 census, is the family I am researching. Catharine is Catharine Rohr and is Frederick's wife and the children are theirs. Christian Bertsch, II, wife is Magdalena Harman and the informant on Christian's death certificate is William Bertsch most like Christian's son. He did have a son by that name. It further appears that Christian is the son of Christian [1790] and Christian Hermann. Salome Bertsch who married Sebastian is the sister of Christian [1832]. But I do not make a connection with Sebastian to my Frederick Ludwig [1826] and I stronly feel that there is one! A John Johannes Bertsch married a Maria Magdalena Hansel and on down the line my Frederick Ludwig 1826 is connected. Maybe Christian 1832 could be a cousin? Roberta |
