hi - the Alexander Beaton who came to Skye Glen, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia about 1830, was given a land grant there after he was injured in the battle of Waterloo - I have nothing on his ancestors, but have a lot on his descendants....and, unfortunately I do not have the Dictionary of Scottish Immigrants...will have to do a lookup - thanks!!
