The Mabou Pioneer books deal alomost exclusively with the Catholic families who settled in Cape Breton. My husband's Presbyterian Chisholm line is mentioned in Volume II - none of his Skye Glen Beaton line is mentioned. The Beaton line that contains Finlay is a Catholic one. The Alexander Beaton who settled in Skye Glen with his brother John is from a Presbyterian line.
