Hello, Stephen, I have your name in my database, and have been researching the Bearss for many years. I am descended from the sister of Levi, Sarah, and have a great deal of information regarding the family. I am also the one who convinced Dr John Quinn Doer to research, (and conclusively refute) the Gypsy/Indian stories promulgated on these boards. Currently the ancestry of Daniel Bearss, father of Levi, is unknown. Levi was orphaned sometime around 1845, and his sister was raised by Almond and Hannah (Waterbury)Aldrich. They were from Zorra, Ontario, so there is some connection to the Canadian Bearss'. Daniel married at least two other times, and I have tracked him and all his name sakes for years and years.
