Karen....Appears Charles Beard's sons Joseph and William were from a mother other than Anna. This 1870 census is from HeritageQuest. 1870 Fort Wayne Post Office, Fourth Ward in the city of Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana Census - Page 335 - Enumerated 9 June: Joseph Grair, 26, blacksmith, value of real estate/2500, b. England Margrett Grair, 19, value of real estate/500, b. New York Ellen Grair, 2, b. Kansas Charles Beard, 31, machinist, value of real estate/1500, b. England Joseph H. Beard, 5, b. New Jersey William Bead, 1, b. Indiana ------------------------ In case you don't have it already, here is the site for Ohio Death Certificates. Found a couple there that are most likely Charles Beard's sons Joseph H. and William. Listed as: Joseph Henry Beard, died 1936. It lists Alfred as his father, but the birth year and place info seem correct. Wondering if the Alfred was a mistake? William A. Beard died in 1952. Both men are buried in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, Ohio. http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start ----------------------- Good luck with your research....Pauline |
