My great grandmother's name was also Catherine Balfe from Carnew. She was born in approx 1864 so I assume she is a niece of your great great grandmother. She married a local man James Murphy and moved to Askamore (about 5 miles away). I have only just started my research on this side of the family but the local priest is looking up info for me on Catherine Balfe of Carnew. If he comes accross an older lady this may be your grandmother and I will send you any info he gives me. Hopefully I can be of some use to you. Regards Siobhan
