Carolyn, I also have a Dorcas Balch, born abt 1774 to Hezekiah Benjamin Balch and Hannah Lewis in Greeneville, TN. This Hezekiah Balch was from the Maryland Balch line. He was a noted and sometimes controversial Presbyterian minister and the founder of Greeneville College in 1794, oldest college west of the Allegheny mountains. Much has been written about old Hezekiah and I am sure there are census records out there that would prove this father - daughter relationship. If I can be of help, please email me. Gene
