http://boards.ancestry.com/thread.aspx?m=1165&p=localities.caribbean.puertorico.general&sort=asc Another post about this Armstrong family (there are other Armstrongs in St. Croix) refers to the son of the above William. The son was named Peter and lived in Puerto Rico. Usually a man named Jens Peder might be called Peder, and his son could be expected to name his own son Peter. So again this story fits with the census above... "Even though in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, Peter Armstrong was called Armstrong (rather than Aulstroupt /Aulsthrup /Aulstrup /Aarestrup as was his family surname of his father Wilheim, upon his father's death) Peter Armstrong had married Ursula Monell in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. His son, Juan Monell Armstrong married Juana Maria Caraballo, (called Jennie) from Yauco, Puerto Rico. They went to New York. There they had 4 children: John, who married Gladys Faye Burkett, Henry, Elsie, and Myrna. Today, there are other related Armstrong family members in Santurce, Rio Piedras and Carolina, Puerto Rico. Also, in New York, New Jersey, and Florida there are more descendants of this line." Person who posted this messsage gives contact information at the link at top. |
