Hello, I am a 12th descendant of the Thomas Ayotte 'Hayot' line. Recently went to a reunion of The Ayottes of ST. Agatha, ME and found his name written as 'Thomas Hayot dit Masticotte'. When I asked what 'dit Masticotte' meant, no one could tell me. Does anyone know and has anyone else ever seen his name written as such? I have been researching my Ayotte roots for three years now and have never come across it. Would appreciate help from other serious researchers. Thank you, Ruth |
