Dear Diane,

Charlotte Clara was found on the Ceylon Burial Register. She was buried in Kandy on the 19/09/1857. Although I visited the British Garrison Cemetery and the St Paul's Church in Kandy, I could not find any further information about the burial. However I found the Christening records for William Robert. WR Coggins worked mainly as a planter/ Superintendent (Initially Coffee then Tea) in Ceylon but also as a Contractor's Overseer at Waterworks in Colombo and a Road Overseer at Haputale from 1871 to 1893. AH Coggins worked only as a planter/Superintendent in a number of areas in Ceylon from 1874 until 1912. I found records to show that Jesse Coggins worked as a planter/Superintendent at Queensland, Maskeliya, Bogawantalawa in Ceylon during 1871-1872. All of their work history was found using the Ferguson's Ceylon Directory. Hope this helps and I will inform you as soon as I obtain any further information. I am also interested in Jesse Coggins and Charlotte Clara Mathers and my blood line is through AH Coggins who was my great great grandfather.

Best of Luck,

Pooja.
