Um ... Dale and I are working on this together. Dale is a half-third cousin and between us we have found out quite a lot about our branch of the Davies family. However, Dale is descended from an earlier marriage than that of Edward Davies and Rachel Frederick (my line) and we can't find out any information about Dale's great grandfather, Joseph Davies; whether he came out to Australia with his father and step mother or if he came later.
We have been trying to find out what ship the family arrived on and if there is a passenger list to find out if Joseph Davies was with the rest of the family (Edward Senior, Rachel, Charlotte, Edward Jnr and Maryann) All indications are that they arrived in Victoria in 1854 but we can't find any records of their arrival or if Joseph was with them.
Maryann was born in Wales in 1854 and two later children, David and Sarah were born in Victoria; David was born in 1857 and Sarah in 1859.
Thank you for taking the trouble to check back over earlier posts.
Cheers - minnie
