Hi, I'm trying to trace the Jewell family from London, England but am struggling to fill some gaps. My great-grandmother is Edith Rose Jewell - born in 1911 in Ratcliff, London, England and died in 1995 in Sydney, Australia.

Her parents were Edith Ellen Percival and Edward Jewell.

I am seeking to fill some missing gaps regarding Edward Jewell's early life:-

Parents Names
Was he an orphan?
If so, may have been dropped off at Gordon's Home for Boys or Barnardos Home for Boys as a baby
How long did he stay there
Did he go to an Industrial workplace
Occupation prior to age 25
Military record
Date of death in Concord, NSW (cannot find)

EDWARD JEWELL
Born: 1886, Gosport, nr Portsmouth
Married: Possibly 1906/1907
Occupation: Tea Blender
Served in WW1 (possibly with the East Surrey Regiment)
Lived at: 2 Bekesbourne Buildings, Ratcliff
Arrived in Australia: 4 June, 1920
Children: Vera, Leonard & Henry (twins), Edith, John
Died: Concord, Sydney

Thanks,
Erin Steer
