I have been researching my James family of Colchester, Ardleigh and possibly Little Bromley, in Essex, England, for a while and I thought this may help others in research of their JAMES families.
The purpose of this JAMES Y-DNA Surname Project is to help sort out all the discrete James clans which have arisen independently since the adoption of surnames began about 800 years ago, and to assist genealogists to coordinate this newly available genetic research with the existing documentary evidence. This may help connecting cousins from the UK, America, Australia, Canada, New Zealand etc, with the surname of JAMES.
