My grandfather is Canadian,his grand-mother was an Aubert from the Gaspe/perse peninsular area.From what he tells me the Auberts came from Jersey originally.There is a 'historic' house on the island with furniture that was brought over to Canada from Jersey.My Aubert great,great grand-mother married into the Rooney family who where mayors of the neighbouring region.If there are any Rooney/Auberts out there,I know my grand-fathers father (George Rooney)had many brothers.
