>>Thomas: I need to make a correction. I went back & looked at the translation of Harry Pechakjian's letter to my grandmother, and it is addressed to: "my mother's brother's daughter." That implies that the relationship was through my great grandFATHER. Therefore, the families of interest to me would be ANYONE related to (or with knowledge of) NAZAR KOUYOUMJIAN. This might include NAZARIANS. My grandmother signed her name both Kouyoumjian and Nazarian. Since my gr-grandfather was a goldsmith/jeweler, it is unclear whether Kouyoumjian was his professional name. He may well have been part of the Nazarian family of Aintep who were the founders of the goldsmith's guild, so the family name could have been Nazarian. Kouyoumjian seems to be what they were signing on the few surviving letters, but ANY information on the family would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
