So your saying that the CEMLA records should be under LAGNEAU. And during the 1895 census the name taker would have written the spanish translation down. I don;t think the name was legally changed.
So for records on CEMLA I should continue to look under their passenger name. Thanks. that might save me some looking.
Very interesting and exciting though to find their names as Laino. It was in those records I found out my great grandmother was not my grandmothers biological mother, but her stepmother. I always wondered in pictures why they did not resemble each other more.
