That's what I thought...you're fighting to prove something that is allegedly disproven by information that the DAR has already accepted.
I don't know what to tell you, but it's not going to be easy. You are going to have to find more records for both men, I think (Duval and Bates), in order to be able to put together a proof paper that is irrefutable.
With regard to the story that I related about the proof paper that we presented, I can tell you that the person I met with in person at DAR and presented the portfolio of proofs to didn't have the time to look at the proof paper right then. She immediately went to her computer and looked up the patriot and said: "Oh, we have Bible records for that one, that's not going to be refuted". I said, "NO, you DON'T have Bible records, you have a typed-up fake of Bible records! That's when she said she would look at it later. It still took three months to hear from someone.
You have to present them with something that they can take a look at and ponder, and you can't use accusations or sarcasm. It has to be concise and well-written or they are not going to take the time to try to follow along.
If you want to send me what you have so I can take a look at it, you can reach me at email@example.com. My schedule stays pretty full, but I would be happy to look over the proofs that you have gathered and make some suggestions.
