The Loyalists who received land grants in Canada made applications that often had a lot of biographical information, such as places of birth and family members.

You might find some help with finding these records (which probably are in Ottawa) here:

There is also a very useful and easy to search site that has books about New Brunswick places, but I can't find my bookmark - maybe you can find it by internet search.

Since your query is genealogical, not about the Revolutionary War, you might find help on the surname message board or on the one for what County in New Brunswick he settled in.
