One of my four gr-grandmothers was Jenny Aldrich born in Mass in 1858. Her father was Horace G Aldrich born in Rhode Island in 1830. Their places and years of birth found per the 1880 & 1900 US Censuses where they lived in Blue Earth County, MN. The pieces found from several online Aldrich family trees and 1850 US Census appear to further make the fit that I have descended from George's gr-grandson Abel (likely more than one so named) whose second marriage was to Mayflower descendent Urania Sprague in 1741 in Rhode Island.

I presume that both your mother and father go back to George Aldrich to give you the 8 ways! One way will suffice for me. But am I being naive to the reality of early times? (grin) Actually, in my case, my father was of second generation German descent while my mother was of English Yankee descent - her mother descended from a NY Pierce and her father was an Atcherson whose forefathers were from the woods of Vermont whose progenitor supposedly was a Birtish deserter from the Revolutionary War.

Interesting to hear that there is an National Aldrich Association....serious stuff no doubt.
