Hi Jonathan,

I just read your message in regard to James Boyd & Flora Alcorn as well as Thomas Boyd & Marjorie Alcorn. I trust that you are still looking for information on the "Alcorns" as I am just trying to do some research on them at this time. I do have some information, but most of my information pertains to the "Boyd" clan.
My great great grandparents were Thomas Boyd & Marjorie Alcorn. Thomas & James had a brother Hugh who was the first to come out to NB in 1819. James followed in 1826 with Thomas, Marjorie (Alcorn) & their large family entering NB in 1836 or 1837.
From the information that I have, Thomas & Marjorie stayed with their "Boyd" cousins, James & John in Saint John, NB when they sailed from Londonderry. They soon moved on to settle in what was called the Back Irish Settlement where Thomas Boyd's two brothers, Hugh & (his wife Mrs. Barnet), James & (his wife Flora Alcorn) had settled. Back Irish Settlement became known as "Boydsdale" & then the name was later changed to Annidale, NB as it is called today.
Our Boyd Clan came from Donegal, Ireland. I believe the Alcorns lived in the area nearby.
If you are interested, I would love to hear from you so we could exchange information.
Hope to hear from you real soon as you are the first person that I have found on any of the message boards seeking information for the same families.
Sincerely,
Carrol (Boyd) T.
