I can't seem to find my info right now that I wanted to ask about but I hope to be able to at least get the ball rolling.
My mother's maiden name is Deborah Allcorn, I'm trying to find out a few things about the family. I have some info but as I said I seem to have misplaced it, but this is what I remember.
I was wondering when the Allcorn/Alcorn change happened. I did a family tree back in junior high and I was told that my family had come down from Gen. Cornwallis of the Revolutionary war (yes he's the one that surrendered to G. Washington) and supposedly after the war he stayed here in the U.S. and changed his name to Alcorn, and then some time later it was changed to Allcorn. Can anyone verify/deny this info.
My Allcorn family currently resides in oklahoma. I also believe I am in some way related to Gen. Stonewall Jackson because the men on my mom's side have been named Jackson Allcorn for about 5 generations. I know I need a little more info here and I hope I can find my misplaced info and maybe verify a little more. thank you
