I have information on Old Maid Hill, and the alcorns. Andrew Alcorn was born about 1795 and died 12,28 1870 of a heart attack. He married Rebecca Watson born 1797. There Children:

Robert Hatten Alcorn, b.1829 d.1904 m.Elvira Wright (1842 - 1927) Their children:

Emily J. Alcorn b. 1834 d..unmarried

5.Betsey Alcorn b.1837 died unmarried
NOTE: the three Alcorn girls lived in theee house on the hill after the death of their parents and never married. Today this hill is known as "Old Maid Hill" to the motoring public.
The Alcorn houses are gone now, just a cellar hole remains. There is a hill on Cloverdale Road that today is called Alcorn Hill and there are several intersection called Alcorn's corners on local road maps. No Alcorns live in the Bethel Area now (some descendents by other names do yet)
You can see that the 2 alcorn branches are closely interwoven. Back in Northern Ireland James and Robert had a common ancestor. All Alcorns in the U.S.descend from one of the 3 brothers who settled in Northern Ireland on land grants from the King of Scotland. ( James, John, and Robert Alcorn )
I hope this is some help to you. If you can fill in any of the missing information I would apprieciate it. If you know of any cause of death, would you send this information on to me. I am doing a family tree for school and have to know cause of death. Sincerely Steph Alcorn
