I am looking for information on my maternal gggrandmother, Harriet L. (ALCORN) Wells. She was born on 12-5-1828, died on 5-6-1910, and is buried in the Rickman Cemetery in Randolph County, AR. Harriet was married to my gggrandfather, John Wells, a native of Washington, Co., MO...In the 1860 Randolph Co., census, John is shown as 39,correct for his birthdate of 1-4-1821, Harriet was 31, William N.(my ggrandfather) was 9, Margaret E. was 7, Sousan (?) S. was 5, Thomas H. was 4 and Lola M. was 2.
That is all of the information that I have on Harriet.
I have, however, uncovered two other ALCORN names from the Rickman Cemetery list. I show that Isham F. Alcorn died on 2-27-1846 and his wife, Permelia Heartgrave Alcorn, born in 1805 and died on 12-16-1852, are both buried in the Rickman Cemetery. Permelia's 1805 year of birth would make her 23 at the time of Harriet's birth.
From the Arkansas Civil War records, I found several individuals with the McGuire surname that belonged to the 7th Arkansas Infantry Regiment, CSA, also known as Shaver's Regiment. The indivuals are 1LT Charles E. McGuire,SGT J. J. McGuire, CPL James B. McGuire, PVT Thomas B.McGuire. This regiment was primarily made up of men from northeast Arkansas.
Can anyone help me with information on Harriet L ALCORN Wells?
