I've looked at the 1880 cenus in Duval County and I did not find Higinio Alaniz's family there. In fact, I did find my grandfather's parents, Guadalupe and Lucia Garcia, and Guadalupe's brother, Vidal Garcia, there. But, I know that Higinio's family were in the area because of Eulogia's baptismal record which shows that she was baptised in San Diego but maybe they lived in a different area around Alice. Now, my goal is to find out where Live Oak, Nueces, might be. I heard that the area around Alice, Texas, was considered Nueces back in 1880's so I am assuming that they were near the San Diego area but in a different area. ?????
