Searching for an ancestor John Thomas Moyer/Moyers b. Tn in possibly Rhea Co. Parents Wyley and Sarah Jane "Sallie" Jones Moyer/Moyers along with their 11 children were found in 1860 Rhea County, Tennessee census. Sometime after the 1870 Rhea Co, TN census Wyley took his family on a downriver barge ride to an area unknown but somewhere in Limestone Co. Alabama the barge got stuck in the mud due to low water and while waiting on the water to rise Wyley got sick and died, his family got off the barge and made their home there. I found John Moyer b. 1857 in TN listed as a boarder/farm hand in the 1880 Limestone Co. Alabama census living with William Hughes family. I have not been able to locate him since. My elderly aunt says she thinks she remembers her papa saying that his Uncle John moved to Madison Co. Alabama and only came to visit on holidays. If anyone knows of this John Thomas Moyer/Moyers please contact me...
