William & Mary, my gggrandparents, married believe in early fall 1859. He was from around Orangeburg,South Carolina moving to Pike County probably 1857-1859. Mary's parents were Noah & Annie Duncan Hurley of Pike County. I am seeking any information on these families, ancestors or descendents. William enlisted in Co A, 39th Alabama Infantry serving as a Corporal. He died of typhoid on 7/16/1863 in Orangeburg SC. A narrative passed down states that the family got word that he was hospitalized in a Confederate camp with TB and Mary and a cousin found William and managed to get a small wagon and carried him to his home in South Carolina. He lived about a month or so the story goes. William & Mary's daughter, Annie Civil Zeigler married William Thomas Daniel and moved to Texas eventually settling in Palestine, Anderson County. They are buried in the East Hill Cemetary, a short distance away from the grave site of John H. Reagan, Post-Master General, Confederate States of America.
