Olympia Record 5/7/1903

George Gaiford, the wealthy Klondiker, cannot have little Georgia. Judge Linn ruled that her grandparents, the Forresters, may keep her.

George Gaiford went from Tacoma to the gold fields of the Klondike when Georgia was a baby. Mrs. Gaiford, not hearing from her husband, thought he had deserted her and divorced him and remarried and is living in Tacoma.

Upon her 2nd marriage, she left Georgia Morella with her parents. The grandparents loved her so much that they applied to adopt her, the mother consented, and they went to court in 1901 and it was adjudged.

George Gaiford came back to Olympia last fall, and found his wife happily remarried to another man and his daughter adopted. He sued for custody and to overturn the adoption, and the judge ruled that Georgia could stay with the grandparents, she had forgotten her father and had bonded with her grandparents.
