Juanita, you will find Peter Hildebrand "Helterbrand" (who led one of the groups on the Trail of Tears) in the 1830 census of Gwinnett Co., GA, near a couple of Hood families, and many other mixed blood Cherokee families. The 1830 U.S. Fed. Census annexed and extended the borders of 5 N. GA counties all the way to the Alabama border so they could include all the very many Cherokee=White families living in CNE GA at that time and target them for removal. Gwinnett Co. contained the most. Look for the last 5 or 6 pages; those have tons of mixed Cherokees.
