I'm trying to find the Mr. Abell who married Lefe Russel Patterson sometime between 1822 and 1883. Lefe married first Abner Patterson of Malone, New York, but she married him in Franklin County Vermont. Sometime, Lefe married Mr. Abell. By 1883 she had moved to Lancaster, Grant County, Wisconsin to live with her daughter, Arminda Patterson Hyde Barstow. The sense I get is that Lefe and Mr. Abell lived in Vermont, but that is more hunch than fact, so I am willing to rethink. There was a Clark Abell, of an age to be either a step-son or a son, living in Georgia VT, and the proud father of a daughter Lecphe, which certainly sounds like a lead, but darned if I can make a legitimate connection. I'll appreciate any light you can shed on this situation. Betsy Mickey
