Well, since you offered :) :) :)
What about UNDERHILL or SUTTON.
I know my gggg grandfather was born about 1761. I think he is the grandson mentioned in Jeremiah Dodge's 1774 Will (Cow Neck, New York). I am trying to track the affiliated families to see which ones fought in the French and Indian War. I'm thinking that might have motivated them to join Rogers in the Revolutionary War. Its just a theory.
Jeremiah Dodge's wife was Elizabeth SUTTON. Jeremiah and Elizabeth's daughter Phebe married Samuel UNDERHILL. I have just found out that Samuel's brother William UNDERHILL was a Queen's Ranger and that he recruited 162 men before he was taken prisoner.
I also just realized the regiment was probably not called Queen's Rangers in 1776. I'm guessing it was still Rogers Rangers or something along those lines.
Thanks for your help.
