Jim,

Are there any men surnamed SANDS in your information about Rogers Rangers?

My gggg grandfather, Stephen Sands, was a Queen's Ranger during the Revolutionary War. According to the British Archives website he was born in Connecticut and was about 15 in 1776 when his military record begins. He first shows up on a Queen's Ranger muster roll in 1780.

I don't know who Stephen's father was. I am wondering if maybe his father fought with Rogers in the French and Indian War and that motivated Stephen to join the Rangers when Rogers was recruiting in Westchester NY and Fairfield CT in 1776.
