Maynard,

Would you please check your copy of "The History of Rogers Rangers Vol.III" for any men surnamed SANDS?

I am researching my gggg grandfather, Stephen Sands. He was a Queen's Ranger during the American Revolution. According to the British Archives website he was born in Connecticut and served starting in 1776 at the age of 15. I don't know who his parents were but I know Queen's Rangers were first recruited in Westchester County NY and Fairfield County CT by Robert Rogers. I am wondering if maybe my gggg grandfather's father might have fought in the French and Indian War and that is why my gggg grandfather was motivated to join the Queen's Rangers. It's a long shot. . .
